Seven people died Sunday morning following a reported explosion and structure fire at a residence in Clinton County, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.
Multiple fire departments were dispatched to 797 Long Run Road in Lamar Township at approximately 8:30 a.m. on April 19, 2026.
Upon arrival, fire units confirmed seven occupants were entrapped within the structure.
Officials said the building was fully involved, preventing emergency personnel from conducting a search for victims.
State police identified the deceased as Sarah B. Stoltzfus, 34, and her six children.
The children included an 11-year-old male, a 10-year-old male, an 8-year-old female, a 6-year-old female, a 5-year-old male, and a 3-year-old male.
Investigators said a propane leak within the interior of the residence is a possible cause of the explosion and subsequent fire.
Authorities noted that exterior propane tanks did not explode and were not contributing factors to the incident.
Trooper Stephen Schramm with the State Police Fire/Explosion Investigation Unit at PSP-Montoursville is leading the origin and cause investigation.
The death investigation remains ongoing.
